I upgraded a machine to XP. What an improvement over Windows 98SE. The only real disappointment with XP is that there are not enough help messages popping up at the right hand side of the Taskbar.

Holy Crapsettling! I just updated Mother Rico's old Gateway to XP. Is there some sort of service Pak update for XP? I thought I heard something but XP did not seem to locate such an update not that I could tell. Lord is XP murder on the eyes. thalo commented a while ago about how shitty AOL's software looks in Aqua. I got to see AOL's software side by side in Panther and XP. However ridiculous thalo feels AOL's software looks in Panther times that by a thousand and you will start to get close to how pitiful it looks in XP. In XP the blue is so hard that it makes reading the drop down menus in AOL completely unreadable. Sortive like when you calibrate your monitor at the beginning when you have to get the tone in the middle of the box just right against the background. Well that is what happens to the text it just disappears into the background. Useless. I am off to the beach.

Oh man, you think there aren't enough messages, go get an HP. The friggin' happy horseshit is totally out of control. "Did you just scratch your balls?... well, The HP Pavilion ball-scratcher jukebox multimedia software updating subscription extravaganza can save you time and energy... for only $9.95 a month, you can..." I think AOL 9.0 on the PC is not only an order of magnitude FASTER than the Mac OS X version, but it's not as ugly. Yeah, it's over the TOP, but for sheer terrible teeth-grinding color choices, oh my holy crap, I can't wait to get out of AOL for OS X. It literally gives me the piss shivers. Now, 9.0 is all jolly jumping distraction, but looks better designed to me. More like visually superabundant Ad/TV graphics. Having lost all sense of trying to be an interface, because it ain't.

Now you've done it. How can I possibly stay with OSX knowing the cutting edge software AOL looks so terrible.

LOL piss shivers... ...related to douche chill? We must be talking about Windows XP -- I do care. I just want to have a beer while I care.

The funny thing about AOL for OS X is WHY it looks terrible. And the reason is, because they tried to give it that overdesigned Aqua-y look. Stripes, stupid lighting effects, upscaled, goofy kiddy icons. Right out of Aqua's playbook. AOL took friggin' Aqua's bullshit about what "cutting edge" software should be, i.e. all choked up with ridiculous chimpy eye candy, and tried to kick THAT up a notch. And what happened? This is me making that whistle.....ka-boom sound. There is no more poorly designed interface in all of computerdom than Aqua. And AOL tried to out-Aqua Aqua.
