If no one has noticed you can now order Panther. Ship dates start Oct. 24.
Point of interest Panther will only work on USB equiped G3 G4 G5 Desktops iMacs eMacs Powerbooks or ibooks. So Markle this either means you are shit out of luck or you will have to break down and install a USB PCI card. Then you can get a digital camera media reader for easy downloading of you Digital photography all in one swoop. |

I always appreciate the tips, RICO!
<< So Markle this either means you are shit out of luck... >> Well, I've known that for 3 years! The advantages of digital photography at this point are still convenience and speed. It's great for sending pictures over the web. Prints, on the other hand, still aren't as good as with film. Direct digital photography is indeed something I can't do in my present setup (I don't even own a digital camera). But as photography is a hobby of mine and I have good 35mm equipment, my scanner, PhotoDeluxe, and Photoshop Elements let me handle the occasions when I need to send a picture out over the web. It's not important enough to migrate to a whole other computing platform and turn my computing life upside down. With OS X use at around 0.6% of the world computer market share (based on the latest total Mac market share of 2.2%), it's just not a good bet to start with it now. Markle |

You have disappeared for a while. What are you still drunk over the election? Over on Apples discussions they have pushed are machines into older Apple hardware sandwiched between quicktake cameras and the newton. I think they are trying to tell us something. I purchased my first digital camera last fall. I think I have taken over 4000 images and counting. There is nothing like a nice Ilford Galleria print. Ink Jet printing still needs some work although the printer with 7 inks(archival) are getting better. I think Kodak is going to start pushing R&D in this direction coming up with better printing methods for digital. I do not see way traditional chemical methods can not be adapted for printing digital images. After all they can still project the digital image just as you do with enlarging film negatives. Leica has teamed with Panasonic in producing their Digital cameras. Next spring this Panasonic is what is to come next form Leica. It is getting closer to the M models. This one I do not think has interchangeable lenses but looks to be using an M-series lense. It has full manual controls. If you ever get the itch to buy Digital I overflowith with info. |
