The misdrawing of scrollbars is at an all-time high in Tiger. Seems like no sooner than I resize a window in Safari, or open a Finder window of a remote server, than the OS suddenly can't seem to figure out how to draw those stupid crystal sausage scrollbars.

Seems to happen with variable content, where it takes a bit of time for the full scope of the window contents to get parsed. That's where OS X screws up. So for example it'll draw scrollbars one size when you first get to a web page, but if that page turns out to have a lot of content, as it streams in, the scrollbar will keep redrawing itself until it blows up. Leaving you with weird fragmented, half-drawn bits and pieces of crystal bullshit, white areas almost as if you took an eraser tool to the scrollbars, even instances where the OS can't seem to understand how WIDE the window is, so you'll get these skinny bars that look like they've been cut vertically in half.

Am I the only one sick of how sloppy and half-assed this interface is? Quartz misdraw errors are not convincing me that OS X is cutting edge, ultramodern, or even commercial quality. Stuff like that still makes the whole thing reek of beta.

The breaking scrollbars is your fault. You're clearly attempting to expand a window into the 4th dimension, i.e. time. Space/time support isn't planned until 10.5

My beef with OS X scrollbars (any version) is rather in the “Finder”...why do windows which have no more items to show still display scrollbars sometimes? Why clicking the + widget doesn't get rid of the scrollbars if the window is supposed to resize to show all of the items? Manually resizing the window doesn't help either.

I've discovered that this happens usually after trashing some item(s) from a folder and then resizing its window as described above. The scrollbars won't go until the Trash is emptied so I assume it has to do with the “ghost” of the trashed items still living in the window...annoying.
