I think it would be very revealing of the state of the Mac to see what the circulation numbers have been for the past three years or so for the major Mac magazines--Macworld and MacAddict, or even MacHome. What have the figures been on a quarterly, semi-annually, or even on an annual basis during this time? I have tried to research this myself, but I've only been able to get bits and pieces of information. Not enough to establish a trend or a pattern. Some of you have connections in the publishing world. You may know of sources of information that I don't. (A couple of periodical industry websites wouldn't let me in without being a member.) Is there any way we can get the circulation or subscription numbers for the Mac mags from before OS X came out up to the present? I think it would be very enlightening. Markle

All I know, is that I've dumped every subscription to every shill rag I used to read religiously for years. I stopped trusting all of them to deliver reviews, the instant I stopped trusting Apple to deliver pro quality. I rarely look at Mac magazines now, unless I get them free. I was a longtime fan of MacWeek, until it caved, went cross platform... after that, I assume it's dead.

Back in the day MacWorld and MacUser were almost as thick as PCWorld. Today they're barely thicker than a Victoria Secret catalogue. And a lot less interesting... I'd like to know the exact numbers but the fact that those mags have been having a lot less ads for the last two years or so is telling also.

I, too, dropped all my Mac magazine subscriptions - because who wants to read at least month-old news?
