After 6 years of OSX Apple is finally patching some of the nonsense! Grids
Nice feature, it's kinda strange they are bothering with that now, I think it's a bit late... By this time I was expecting a complete overhaul of the Finder and a complete new interface similar to Aperture. But hey, grids are grids At this rate we'll get spring-loaded-dock-folders in 15 years lol. |

Brother Trif,
I agree, that one's kind of an eybrow raiser... makes you wonder why, after all this time, they finally fix THAT? I mean, there's just so much that's more pressing. Personally, if I had to highlight the absolute WORST Finder feature of all, it would be the way LABELS have been done. There are just too many icon states for labeled Finder icons. It's extraordinarily confusing and counterintuitive. A total mess. I have a feeling that until Apple really opens up the Finder for user customization, it's going to continue to suck the big one. There just needs to be way more theme and font and icon and appearance options. There needs to be a range of Mac interface looks and feels, that go from minimal and monochrome and pro... to upscaled, kiddy, busy and ridiculous. Personally, I'm getting sick of the whole half-assed "illusion-of-3D" interface. I'd rather have a GOOD, intuitive TWO-D interface, than a crappy over-rendered one. I guess I'm just not as charmed by textures and rendering as most people... maybe because I do that stuff for a living. I'd much rather have usable and minimal. Just enough to get the job done and no more. |

Another tiny little detail i am curious about:
http://www.thinksecret.com/archives/macosxleopard/0608w...rce/sysprefdock.html Will there be a "NO EFFECT"-setting at the minimize-popup? |
