Ode on a Mac forum
Much have I travell'd on the internet, And many planets, moons and idoits seen, Round many dildo'd lesbians have I been: Mars, Titan, Gore; Gaia and Yvette. Oft of one small site had I been warned, A brotherhood dedicated to free speech, Where members talk, fight, link, preach --No one banned, no topic scorned. There feel I like some jerk-off addict When proactive Palin walks into his den; I dig deep-brow’d thalo’s take on X, And the friendship and the conflict. (Keats) This message has been edited. Daft Oil Drills
I wandered lonely as a moose Hunted by racists o'er vales and hills, When all at once a bunch of nazis on the loose --Ignorant rednecks--showed up with drills; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, They raped Alaska, if you please. These creatures had clearly never tasted wine: Budweiser ‘t was with them all the way; Hand them a nice Merlot? Those swine Would sell it promptly off on eBay; Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Shouting DRILL, BABY, DRILL! in ghastly trance. A few daffodils danced in the wind; but they Gave them not a glance in their glee; One would not want to be, you know, gay, In such unsophisticated company: I gazed--and gazed--but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my wife I lie In vacant or in desperate mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my dick with hot blood fills Without the help of Viagra pills. (William Wordsworth) |

If Wordsworth was actually more like this, I'd probably read much more poetry. There was an interesting program on last night about the Dust Bowl. It was definitely left-leaning, but it showed the type of environmental destruction that can ensue. In this case, it was the result of government policies which heavily promoted farming in arid areas by giving away huge plots of land and painting a picture of a horn-of-plenty. It wasn't a failure of the free market. Most farmers, left to their own devices, probably wouldn't have tried to grow things in such an arid area. But government was in an expansionist mood. And that expansionist mood worked. But it just didn't work in this case. At least that History Channel show did acknowledge that. It wasn't just stupid, ignorant farmers in need of government guidance, although that's obviously how it eventually played out. Regarding drilling for oil, it's happening all over the world and it's not an environmental disaster. It's sheer dishonesty and bad politics for Democrats to be shouting for energy independence without actually doing anything about it. And they're expected to win the presidency and pick up more seats in Congress. |

The day is done, and marxists Take over the land of the brave; From here on it’s all downhill, folks-- Bin Laden applauds in his cave. I see the lights of the White House Gleam through the rain, and I’m pissed Off at the shape of the future: Free speech--too late--will be missed. A feeling of sadness and longing --A longing, oh, not for McCain, But for the Pearl of Alaska-- Eats at my heart and my brain. Come, read me a poem by Longfellow, Some simple and heartfelt lay, That shall soothe this hopeless feeling On this historic day. (Longfellow) This message has been edited. Last edited by: yabor, |

Political commentary never sounded so sweet. America, the great land of freedom and opportunity, is perhaps about to validate the ticket of class envy, economic stupidity, and socialism. And even at thalo.net you see the many people enthusiastically fiddling as Rome burns. You see us in the midst of a culture war. It's a war between those who ask simply that something make sense and those who have anointed themselves as being on a higher moral plane of understanding and do-gooder discernment. And even while claiming to fight for what is right, they focus on personalities and attempt to destroy them while others merely ask "Is raising taxes and transferring a thousand dollars from those who work hard and pay taxes to those who aren't paying any taxes now a smart thing to do?" The questions are easy. The rationalizing from the apologists for the left is complex. Your marvelous poetry, as always, trims away much of the fat. |

Obama mini interview
“Joe B., or not Joe B.: that was the question. Couldn't face the thought of Hilary; why suffer Her sick innuendos and outrageous husband? But, the harm of a Bidenesque sea of gaffes Had to be considered. No time for sleep. Michael Moore? Some female? Well, in the end I choose the man with the naturalistic locks Of grade-A hair and sunny smile. Joe's a VP Devoutly to be wished: he’ll booze and sleep.” “I sleep well, ay; except that oft I dream of a tub With Palin in it--chilling, the nightmares that come At the end of long days of campaigning, of toil Without a pause. Let me tell you, it's the respect Shown me for what I have accomplished in life That makes it all worthwhile. Thank you.” (Shakespeare) This message has been edited. Last edited by: yabor, |

Here’s some beautiful silly by Wendy Cope:
Strugnell's Sonnets (iv) Not only marble, but the plastic toys From cornflake packets will outlive this rhyme; I can't immortalize you, love - our joys Will lie unnoticed in the vault of time. When Mrs. Thatcher has been cast in bronze And her administration is a page In some O-Level text-book, when the dons Have analysed the story of our age, When travel firms sell tours of outer space When aeroplanes take off without a sound And Tulse Hill has become a trendy place And upper Norwood's on the underground Your beauty and my name will be forgotten - My love is true, but all my verse is rotten -- Wendy Cope Here’s the Shakespeare original: Sonnet LV Not marble, nor the gilded monuments Of princes, shall outlive this powerful rime; But you shall shine more bright in these contents Than unswept stone, besmear’d with sluttish time. When wasteful war shall statues overturn, And broils root out the work of masonry, Nor Mars his sword nor war’s quick fire shall burn The living record of your memory. ’Gainst death and all-oblivious enmity Shall you pace forth; your praise shall still find room Even in the eyes of all posterity That wear this world out to the ending doom. So, till the judgment that yourself arise, You live in this, and dwell in lovers’ eyes. |

Obama Song
Your head’s on a photo Above Castro’s bed; You’re as hot as Kyoto, You’ll paint the world red. Che's laughing in Hell To see you so good; Michelle ta belle Is in a proud mood. Obama youths hail you, Their fingers crossed; But I shan’t miss you After you've lost. (Yeats) |

I don't stay up late enough these days so it's been a long time since I've watched Saturday Night Live. But I can keep up on what the REAL cultural elites are doing by visiting this thread once in a while. Cultural goof-balls as well, but that's half the fun too.
I can't tell you the douche chills it would give me if I was one of them Obama yutes marching or singing in unison to the Great Leader. As much as I love Reagan, Thatcher, and Brother Sowell, I don't have pictures of them on my walls. One of the odd things is that yutes for the past 30 years or so have been taught that patriotism is bad. Pride in nation is bad. Thinking the West stands for good ideals is bad. But stick a nice face on a Marxist/socialist and people forget all they've been taught and run toward friendly fascism. It's bizarre, but when they say we human are also an animal, they are surely right. And we see this. |

Freezing planet
To compare thee to a summer’s day Might constitute a climate crime; Can’t mention record colds, okay? This ain’t bloody Shakespeare’s time. The Green Police spy everywhere, They’ve recruited our own kids; So I’ll compare thee to a polar bear, One with solar-powered tits. |
