Jon Ive is a latte sipping elite Limey, but man oh man he does good work. I love the shots of milling the aluminum on the CDC machines.

Oh, by the way, I'm only going to say "Al-you-MIN-i-um" from now on, instead of "A-LOO-min-um".

Yeah, that was an interesting video. I always love seeing how stuff is made. It's "Jony" Ive, I see.

Oh I know, I laughed out loud at that. "Jony" [eye roll]. And I love how in order to be even cooler, he couldn't possibly touch a razor to his jaw, or wear a shirt with a collar.

And still, I lust for one of those laptops. Even with the gloss glass screens. Which although hard to see, hey, at least they're probably easier to clean spunk off if people are doing a little unibody driving with porn.

Designwise, I absolutely love the sleep indicator light, with micro-holes in the aluminum, so it looks almost invisible when the light is off. That's pretty darn nifty.

A few things I'd love to know:

1) is it just glass on metal when you close the thing? I mean no bumpers or rubber gasket on the bezel?

2) All-you-MIN-i-um is such a SOFT metal, do they hard anodize it?

3) how HOT does it run? Is it another iGriddle? When I had the 17 inch Powerbook, I could never use it on my lap for fear of searing my flesh.
