Extensis finally updated Suitecase combining features from Suitcase and FontReserve called Suitcase Fusion.

Extensis had swallowed up FontReserve a font app competitor three years ago or more.

Wonder if it will have the Universal seal.

Wow, this came at a good time. I've really about had it with Suitcase. It's been CRAWLING in Quark, Illustrator, etc. And I'm still getting font hell in Safari (garbled font bug). I'll give the 30 day trial a shot.

The garbled safari font is Helvetica fractions. Use font book to turn it off.

Make sure FontBook has not imported fonts into your User folder. If there are any fonts in your Users Library Fonts folder I would remove them. That can and will cause slowdowns. They are most likely duplicates if there are any fonts in the Users Library folders.

Did you also notice that the only vendor mentioned on the Intel switch porting was Quark.

The problem just seems to be Helvetica T1, as a family... no "fractions" in there that I can see.

Every time I try to add my fonts to Suitcase fusion, it unexpectedly quits. Had this same issue with Suitcase, had to add them a few at a time.
